I was pretty early for my dinner reservation so decided to have a drink at a random bar on route. Everything in Bath city centre is pretty close to each other so its really easy to be spontaneous. Bath is more of a bar/pub kinda city. If you want to party party and go to a club then Bath probably wont be for you. Its a sofisticated kinda place with good opening hours for most nightlife stops. Bristol/Cardiff might be your nearest places for the big city party feel.
I eventually ended up at SUB 13, a small, classy bar with nice artist deco with an exclusive atmosphere and Londony sort of feel, I felt right at home. For its small size it really packs a punch with its organic themed decor using a mix of fresh and faux florals. I do love a good bar that really pays attention to interior, design and how it makes its guests feel.
There are 3 floors with a DJ at weekends for the Bath party scene. You must check it out and tell me how it was! Some how still I cant imagine Bath being the go to for a boogie… but thats a veteran party girl talking. However in Bath’s defence…. I am here on a sleepy monday night.
I politely stalked the group outside and saw they were indeed having a great time under the heaters and freeze
Yasmine The Great

I sometimes feel a little weird going into bars alone, people look at you funny…. especially when its a 2-4-1 deal. Bar staff were great, I think its really something when a bartended asks if you want a recommendation or surprise rather than staring at their menu going “UMMMMMMM……errrr… ooo I dunno……” YAWN. She went straight in there and asked to recommend.
But me being Yas and a connoisseur of the ol’ cocktail, I went for the safe pre dinner Bellini…. which was dangerous for reason you will hear in my Hudson Steak house review.
See SUB 13 have a lovely all day 2-4-1 deal on all cocktails which is brilliant for all your British needs of a good deal. It’s normally 2-4-1 on the same cocktails but the lovely bar-demon gave me two different flavours to which I welcomed 10000%. Lovely quality prosecco used in my bellinis which maked all the difference and it tasted pretty good! So in Yas fashion I pretty much downed the first one and then in realising the time, I had to rush off to the dinner reservation….so classily downed the other.

The bar also has an impressive outdoor terrace area, for obvious reasons I didn’t venture outside…. It’s currently arctic temperatures in Bath and my small fragile frame can’t deal with sitting outside at the best of times, so I politely stalked the group outside and saw they were indeed having a great time under the heaters and freeze. I can imagine this place seriously poppin’ in the summer and I really recommend this place if you are here during that time.

So who’s this place not for?… If you want a local cheap pint this isn’t the place for you, while they do beers and cider you are more likely to find your craft kind in this establishment. If you want an extensive Gin list with interesting cocktails, wines and bubbles then this is the place for you.
