Still going with reviews of my time in Bath! – I did visit quite a few places that really caught my eye, especially having the freedom to roam and discover places without having to compromise with anyone else!
I came across Barton Street Wine bar as I was wondering through the streets of Bath. Bath is very safe and you can really feel it. Maybe coming from London, the wild west of the country (apparently), I kinda feel numb to potential crime and walking down dimly lot roads at night.
As I past the place I noticed a girl playing the piano and decided to go in and give it a try. Who doesn’t want a glass of wine in a creepy looking building, plus it look extremely inviting and I was done being in the cold!
I stepped into the bar and realised it was a dog friendly environment… right after I stepped on the TINEST chihuahua known to man. His owner thought it was hilarious, the canine baby however, did not and proceeded to cower and shake under her chair.
The bar staff were really helpful recommending wine to my pallet. I’m a real advocate of asking for recommendations at a bar for cocktails and wine so if you come to Barton Street Winebar, definitely tell the bar tender what kinda of wine your are into and your preference. Nothing is worse than drinking a glass of wine that tastes of vinegar. I went for a nice fruity glass of Red (The name escapes me, bad reviewer!) at £10 a glass.
Wednesday has open piano nights, please go along if you want to impress the city of Bath with your musical skills. The atmosphere was jovial with other guests requesting songs for the girl performing on the piano to play for a sing-off…. But I was really interested in her classical skills and rendition of bohemian rhapsody. The bar is PERFECT for a date, seating it a little on close side to other tables but its very cosy.
